We follow the current USBC rules with the following additional considerations ...
CALENDAR: First Monday following Labor Day at 7:00 p.m.
We will bowl two 15 week halves ('tournament' weeks do not count toward wins & losses).
The last week will be roll-offs between the 1st and 2nd half first place winners.
- all other teams will participate in a No-Tap Tournament that evening
TEAMS: 4 bowlers per team
Openings on teams will be filled using the following guidelines:
1. Two or more openings will be filled with a (grand)parent/child(ren) or siblings (one
adult, one or more youth). Other adult/child combinations must be voted on by league officers.
2. Single openings will be filled with youth bowlers. Returning bowlers will use their last
season ending average for the first 6 games when a new average will be established.
A blind score suitable to the age of the bowler will be used to determine wins/losses for
new bowlers until they have an established average.
ABSENTEE: A 10% penalty will be deducted from an absentee bowler’s score if there is no roll-off.
There will be no rounding of numbers.
A bowler will be considered absent if he/she arrives after the fourth frame has been completed.
If he/she arrives before the fourth frame has been completed, he/she may be
added back into the line-up and the computer will allow the preceding frames to be made up.
If there is a medical reason why a bowler is not bowling, full average will be used if a
dated doctor’s excuse is provided prior to that session.
Full average will also be used in the event of the death of an immediate family member.
If a bowler decides between games to not complete the session, 10% will be deducted from the
remaining games.
If a bowler decides during a game to not complete the session, the score as of his/her decision will be
the final score used for that game.
ROLL-OFFS: If you are not able to bowl during a regular league session, we ask that you please roll-off.
When rolling off, you will pay the weekly amount when you return.
Be sure the counter employee prints out your scores.
We have a roll-off book that you must enter your scores into.
Roll-off games will not be considered for high game or high series awards.
They will also not be used for “bowler of the month” award.
No more than 6 games may be banked per bowler.
If for some reason you are able to bowl that evening, you must decide prior to the beginning of the first game.
If you decide to bowl, you must pay your regular fee.
Three consecutive weeks of not rolling off or contacting a league officer with a medical
reason for not rolling off will result in your being removed from the league roster.
You may have no more than two consecutive roll-off weeks and no more than six roll-off weeks per half.
After six roll-off weeks, your average will be used in place of your roll-off scores.
HANDICAP: 100% handicap will be used.
The 4-point system will be used for scoring wins/losses.
FORFEITS: NO FORFEITS.
BALLS: Only 1 bowling ball per bowler is permitted on the ball return.
SWEARING: If a bowler is caught using foul language, his/her score for that frame shall be zero.
PACERS: A bowler may pace only 5 weeks per half unless approved by league officers.
CAPTAINS: Each team will choose their own captain.
The captain is responsible for collecting the money for their team and for
watching and recording all scores.
They should also have high games announced.
Money envelopes should be turned into the league treasurer no later than the end of their first game.
Captains are also responsible for keeping their team informed about league activities.
1ST PLACE: The first place teams from the 1st half and 2nd half will bowl
against each other on the last bowling week of the season:
Each game will be 1 point.
The team receiving the most points for the 3 games will be declared the season winner.
In the event of a tie, the total pins for those 3 games will be used to determine the winner.
